1.Who we are
P&J Cleaners provides residential and commercial cleaning across Metro Vancouver. We are responsible for the personal information we collect, and we follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information and can be reached at info@pnjcleaners.com or 778-720-2224.
2.What we collect
Information you give us
- Quote and contact requests: your name, phone number, email address, the type of cleaning you want, your property type and size, a preferred date and time, and any notes you add.
- Offer and waitlist sign-ups: your phone number, your name and email if you choose to add them, and, for a waitlist, the service you are waiting for.
- Bookings and service: your service address, how to get in (for example a door code or where a key is left), and what you tell us about your home or workplace and any pets.
- Job applications: your name, phone number and email, the position you are applying for, your availability, start date and experience, any notes, and your résumé if you upload one.
- Calls, texts and emails: your contact details and what you tell us.
Information collected automatically
- With a form submission: your IP address, your browser type, the page you were on, and how you reached our site (the referring website and any advertising campaign tags in the link).
- As you browse: information from cookies and similar tools, described in section 5.
- Phone numbers: the number shown on our site can depend on how you found us, for example through our Google Business Profile or an ad. This tells us which of our marketing leads to calls.
3.How we use it
- To answer your request, prepare a quote, and schedule and deliver your cleaning.
- To follow up on the quality of a clean, including our re-clean guarantee.
- To keep customer records and handle billing.
- To review job applications and contact applicants.
- To tell you when a service you joined the waitlist for becomes available.
- To understand how our website is used and which advertising brings in enquiries.
- To prevent spam and fraud, and to meet our legal obligations.
We collect only what we need for these purposes. If we want to use your information for a new purpose, we will ask you first.
4.Calls, texts and emails
When you ask for a quote or book with us, we contact you about it by phone, text or email. That is the service you asked for.
We send promotional messages only with your consent, and each one tells you how to unsubscribe. Reply STOP to any text from us, or email info@pnjcleaners.com, and we will stop.
7.Where it is stored
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country, which may allow its authorities to access it.
8.How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax and accounting records. If we use your information to make a decision that directly affects you, such as a hiring decision, we keep it for at least one year afterwards, as BC law requires, so you can ask to see it. After that we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
9.How we protect it
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, our records are kept with established providers, and access is limited to people who need it for their work. No system is completely secure. If you think your information has been misused, tell us right away.
10.Your rights
Under PIPA you can ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and who we have given it to;
- to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- to stop using your information, by withdrawing your consent. We will tell you if this means we can no longer provide a service.
Email info@pnjcleaners.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within 30 business days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
11.Children
Our website and services are for adults. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12.Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
